Wrapping up our school year

This has been quite a year!  Our 2009-2010 year started with a "BANG" in June.  We kept up the momentum until a few weeks before the birth of our fourth child and the passing of my Father.  Both events within days of each other.   Needless to say, schooling took a back seat for a few months.

We officially ended our year in April with the completion of IOWA testing.  As expected, I happily report that all children have moved up to the next level in their schooling.  We spent the remainder of April and part of May tying up loose ends and relaxing.

Using Tapestry of Grace, we studied Ancient History in depth.  I can't say the kids enjoyed it as much as they do the Modern era, but, they had fun none the less!

As we wove our way through this period in history, we stopped to do plenty of hands on activities. Here are a few.

  2. Seeing pictures of what others did is always fun for me and good food for thought. We are almost done with Y1 LG. I like the way you used food to do many of your projects. Educational and edible too. A great space-saver!
