In Memory of My Father

This is a repost from last year.  It has been two years since I celebrated Father's Day with my Father.  He passed away 4 days after The Nip Napper was born.  They say that with time loss gets easier....I don't think I'm there yet.

I miss you Dad!!!

My Father passed away last October after a short battle with lung cancer at a ripe age of 84.  We were blessed to have an extra 21 years with him after his first massive stroke.

My Father was an artist.  But, not in the conventional sense.  His first love was cars.  He could walk through any car museum and tell you the most intricate detail about any vehicle.  His artistry came through his work as a mechanic.  My Father was able to diagnose and fix any car old school - meaning that he didn't need to use a computer to find what was wrong....he listened to the car and heard it's woes.  No matter what the problem, he was able to fix it.  Most amazing was his ability to CRAFT a part if one wasn't available.

I love and miss you Dad!

  1. So sorry for your loss. It's always hard around Father's Day or other events that remind us that our father isn't with us any more isn't it? My father died 20 years ago this July in a road accident. I was still a teenager. He was 49. I still miss him afetr all this time. It does get easier....

Such a lovely tribute to your father. xo
