|Standing next to his brand new toddler bed!|
I had imagined this day from the birth of my first. The day when I would take down the crib for the last time....lovingly fold up the Noah's Ark bedding and take down the animal pictures from the wall.
Oh, what ceremony I had planned for that day!!!
Here's what actually transpired.....
After several sleepless nights trying to get The Nip Napper to sleep in his crib, it finally occurred to me that it wasn't his room that he didn't like, but, the crib. Immediately after this realization the crib mattress came out of the crib and was put on the floor. Now for a big problem, there wasn't enough room in his room! Being a woman of action, I didn't waste a second. I grabbed the screwdriver and with the help of my oldest disassembled the crib, throwing the crib bedding on our bed and hauled the crib to the corner.
Feeling pleased with solving our sleep problem, it dawned on me that the big ceremony I had planned in my mind for this day had just been reduced to a 1/2 hour 'get it done and put away' effort.
So, while it wasn't the way I thought it would be, we did do a few special things to welcome this new season.

My daughter put together some foamies kits to decorate his now bare walls.
