Teen Coder - Game Programming Review & Update

Teen Coder - Game Programming from Homeschool ProgrammingAfter completing C# Windows Programming from Homeschool Programming's Teen Coder Series,  my 9th grader joyfully began  Game Programming.

Remarking "Now the real fun begins!!" he set off on a programming adventure where more than one programming activity is included within a chapter!

From the Homeschool Programming website:

TeenCoder: Game Programming is our second semester course in the TeenCoder C# Series. This course pairs the 'C#' programming language with Microsoft's XNA Game Studio to provide a modern, easy to use game-creation framework. Students will be thrilled to learn how to write their own Windows games from scratch!

My son is half way through this course.  So far he's studied and worked through Game Design, Graphics Concepts, Working with Images, Input, Introducing Sprites and putting them into a game.  This is one subject I don't have to force him to study!

Eight more chapters remain until he earns another 1/2 credit for high school.  That will make a whole credit in Computer Science for his transcript this year!

A big bonus has been to see the excitement my son gets being able to 'program something on the computer and make it work.'  He's also working on 2 side projects.  One for a local business.  Now THAT'S education!
